This week’s Apple Loop looks back at another week of news and headlines from Cupertino, including iPhone 14 price shock, iPhone 14 Pro supply issues, latest MacBook Air problems, Mac Pro ignoring M1, keyboard class-action suit progress, and a USB-C mode for your AirPods.
Apple Loop is here to remind you of a few of the many discussions that have occurred in the Apple community over the last seven days
The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are the entry-level models of Apple’s new smartphone, with the lowest prices but all of the main functions of the iconic bitten apple phone. The iPhone 14 Plus has a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch display. The A15 Bionic chip is used, and the battery lasts 26 hours in video playback for the 14 Plus model and 20 hours for the smaller model.
Cost of iPhone 14
The Apple faithful were already bracing themselves for a price increase on the iPhone 14 family, and this week brought more information on the impact of the economy on iPhone production:
“We believe the iPhone 14 will see a $100 price increase,” Ives explained. “Prices have been rising throughout the supply chain, and Cupertino must pass these costs on to the consumer with this release.”

The availability of the iPhone 14 is one of the other issues raised by the strained supply chain. For some time, the projected stock has been fluctuating, with more analysts now predicting lower availability at launch. If you want a new iOS smartphone, you’ll have to act quickly!
“At the time, Kuo added, “Apple doesn’t usually change shipment forecasts for new iPhones (double-digit increase/decrease) before launching new models and confirming actual market demand/feedback.” Now, Kuo follows the same line, saying there’s a supply issue, but it will have “a limited impact on the coming mass production of the iPhone 14 because other suppliers can fill the supply gap.”
