2023 Audi A3: The Audi A3 is the smallest of Audi’s luxury vehicles, but that doesn’t mean it lacks premium looks and features. We also like the premium interior materials and technology features available at an entry-level (for a luxury brand) price, which gives the small sedan some solid value. The A3 was completely redesigned last year and will return in 2023 with most of the same features, though Audi says one trim level has been dropped to reduce complexity.
Overview
The 2023 Audi A3 crams a lot of premium features into its compact four-door body, as well as nimble handling and strong performance. The A3 is the Audi brand’s entry point, distilling much of the lineup’s tech-focused ethos into a smaller, less expensive package. It stands out among entry-luxury rivals such as the Acura Integra and the BMW 2-series Gran Coupe. The cabin of the A3 is compact, but it includes a large infotainment display and a digital gauge cluster, among other luxury and convenience features. A 201-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine comes standard, with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system available as an option.
Specs of 2023 Audi A3

The interior was redesigned to highlight one of the A3’s strengths: technology. A 10.1-inch touchscreen in the centre is standard, as is a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster that can be upgraded to 12.3-inches with the Technology package. Standard features include leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats, and tri-zone automatic climate control. The A3’s only flaw is its small interior space, but that’s standard in this class of luxury subcompacts.
A turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available as an option. The A3 performed admirably in our testing, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds and stopping from 60 mph in 121 feet, both of which are impressive figures for this class. Of course, if you’re looking for more power, Audi has the 306-hp S3 and the 401-hp high-performance RS 3. Continue reading to learn what our experts thought of the A3.
