Aaqib Javed believes Pakistan lacks a quality all-rounder like of Hardik Pandya. He is one the best all-rounders of modern-day cricket as he is the best finisher of current Indian lineups. He can also give some good overs to his captain with few wickets. He is being compared to the all-time great allrounder and India’s one of the world cup winning captain Kapil Dev.
On August 28, India will face Pakistan in the first match of the upcoming Asia Cup in Dubai. Both teams met at the same venue last year during the T20 World Cup, with Pakistan winning. Pakistan had a dominant performance as India suffered their first World Cup defeat to their arch-rivals. Former Pakistan bowler Aaqib Javed, on the other hand, believes that India’s batting lineup, particularly the middle order, can make the difference.
Former Pakistan cricketer Aaqib Javed also stated that Pakistan is in desperate need of a quality all-rounder like Hardik Pandya who can make a difference.
“Babar has gained experience, and these cricketers have been playing together for quite some time. The difference between India and Pakistan, however, is in their batting. Their (Indian) batting is more experienced even now. If a player like Rohit plays long enough, he can win the game by himself. The difference between India and Pakistan is in their middle-order batting. India’s all-rounders have the potential to make a significant difference. We don’t have an all-rounder of the calibre of Hardik Pandya.”
All-Rounder Hardik Pandya recent performance
Hardik had scored 11 points off eight balls in last year’s loss to Pakistan. He did not bowl during the match, however, due to a back problem.
After last year’s tournament in the UAE, the 28-year-old took a break from cricket.
He has, however, cemented his place in the playing XI following outstanding performances in both the IPL and the international circuit.
