Netflix’s Top Fantasy Movies that you should watch

The best movie on Netflix that you should have at least watch it once a while. Read this article to know the list of few fantasy movies on Netflix.

Netflix doesn’t have a huge selection of fantasy films, but there are a few charming (and eclectic) gems to be found. Many, including the remarkable Closet Monster, combine the fantastical with real-world struggles. Alternatively, immerse yourself in the world of high fantasy with The Golden Compass, based on Philip Pullman’s classic novels.

Netflix: A Monster Calls (2016)

This dark fantasy drama is directed by J.A. Bayona of Spain, who has since branched out into major franchise chapters such as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and the first two episodes of Prime Video’s upcoming Lord of the Rings series. But perhaps his best work is focused on coming-of-age stories; A Monster Calls follows a troubled young boy who meets a tree who promises to tell him three stories in exchange for Connor telling him one. A Monster Calls is a smart, moving fantasy story with roots in darker themes, one of which is death.

The Water Man (2020)

The Water Man will not appeal to everyone. This family-friendly adventure, which is more drama than pure fantasy, deals with themes such as grief, loss, and friendship. Gunner, 11, and his family relocate to a new town, where the bookworm faces not only a lack of friends but also a harsh father and a mother suffering from leukaemia. His fantasy transports him to a fairy tale forest, where his imagination comes to life. An exciting story about larger issues.

Pan (2015)

This 2015 film explored the origins of Peter Pan and Captain Hook. It stars Garrett Hedlund as Hook and High Jackman as the pirate Blackbeard.

Big Fish (2003)

Set yourself up for a fantastical story that may or may not be true. Will Bloom (Billy Crudup) pays a visit to his dying father, who begins to believe his exciting, impossible stories about his life. This sprawling, Tim Burton-directed adventure transports us to Edward Bloom’s (Ewan McGregor) childhood, where we witness his stories unfold for ourselves. Big Fish is a charming prize catch, complete with witches, a circus, and bank robberies.

Nightbooks (2021)

This dark fantasy is co-produced by Sam Raimi and boasts top horror credentials. Nightbooks, which is still aimed at younger audiences, is a mystery about a young boy who must figure out how to escape a magical apartment owned by Krysten Ritter’s witch Natacha. A tomb of amusement.
