Manager Jurgen Klopp claims that the Manchester United turmoil is not helpful for Liverpool. After two draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace dropped them four points behind championship contenders Manchester City, Liverpool is in desperate need of their first league victory.
Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, says he is not comforted by Manchester United’s predicament and is cautious of a response from the Red Devils when the two teams square off on Monday.
After losing their first two games of the season, United is currently last in the Premier League for the first time in 30 years.
The team of Erik ten Hag lost 4-0 against Brentford last weekend after giving up four goals in the first 35 minutes.
Liverpool beat United 5-0 at Old Trafford and 4-0 at Anfield in their two encounters last season, inflicting the same agony on them.
Klopp asserted that if United had been in better shape heading into what he called a heavyweight match, he would have been pleased.
Manager Jurgen Klopp claimed;
“Last year, when we received the two results, I already understood that it would not be helpful for the next year. This is how it’s always been “stated Klopp during the Friday presser before the game.
“If it’s conceivable given the circumstances, that simply makes United more determined.
“Definitely, I would love to play them after a 5-0 victory. It is as it is, but because it is not a dream, we must accept it as such.
“Everyone can see it since it is Monday night, so I believe the entire globe will tune in to witness how these two powerhouses handle the circumstance. I would see it.”
In addition, Liverpool is in desperate need of a victory after two draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace put them four points behind championship contenders Manchester City.
The Reds’ early-season injury woes haven’t helped, and Darwin Nunez won’t be travelling with them to Old Trafford after receiving a red card on his home debut for a headbutt on Palace defender Joachim Andersen.
Joe Gomez, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, and Roberto Firmino ought to be well enough to rejoin Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup, although Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, and Diogo Jota are still sidelined.
