Wanuri Kahiu, the project’s multi-award-winning filmmaker, received many African Academy awards for her debut film From a Silence, but it was her picture Rafiki that established her as a globally recognised name.
CatchLight Studio’s Jessica Malanaphy also serves as a producer, while Screen Arcade’s Reinhart and Alyssa Rodrigues are government producers. Bryan Unkeless of Screen Arcade and Eric Newman from Grand Electric, whom collaborated with Netflix on the breakout hit Power Project, will also produce.

Wanuri Kahiu, the project’s multi-award-winning filmmaker, won many African Academy awards for her debut film From a Silence, but it was her film Rafiki that launched her as a globally recognised brand. Rafiki made its global premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Kahiu was nominated for and won awards at the Dublin World Film Festival and the Chicago Film Festival, among others.
The film is, a new Netflix film, does exactly that. When Natalie (Lili Reinhart) takes a pregnancy test right before graduating from college, she is in for a crazy ride. Viewers are shown the two different paths her life may take based on the test results, with both narratives (ideally) giving her with all she requires in.
