From Scratch is a Netflix original drama series developed by Attica Locke and Tembi Locke based on Tembi Locke’s memoir of the same name. Attica Locke is the showrunner for the eight-episode series, which stars Zoe Saldaa. The launch date for From Scratch is slated for October 21, 2022.

From Scratch is a moving autobiographical romance about an American lady who falls in love with a Sicilian guy while studying abroad in Italy and then establishes a life with him in the United States. When she unexpectedly loses him to sickness, she is forced to overcome her grief in order to raise their daughter as they would have raised her together: with hope, joy, and limitless love.
About the Trailer
American student Amahle “Amy” Wheeler (Saldaa) and Sicilian chef Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea) meet when the former is studying abroad in Italy. The two become engrossed in a romance and fall in love, only to face a slew of unexpected problems when their two cultures clash. During the eight-episode series, it looks that there will be a lot of jokes and fun, as well as a lot of problems, including severe health conditions that haunt the new family’s future. Netflix revealed key art and fresh visuals for the forthcoming romantic series, in addition to a new teaser.
The drama stars Danielle Deadwyler, Keith David, Judith Scott, Kellita Smith, Lucia Sardo, Paride Benassai, and Roberta Rigano and is based on Locke’s New York Times best-selling novel, From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home. Locke, her sister Attica Locke, Saldaa, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Richard Abate, Jermaine Johnson, and Will Rowbotha also serve as executive producers. Nzingha Stewart and Dennie Gordon will share directing duties.
