The all-electric Chevrolet Bolt EV subcompact car can go 259 miles on a single charge in 2023.

Since its launch in 2016, Chevy has refined the Bolt into an interesting compact electric hatchback with out-of-the-ordinary appearance and a great value proposition.

The Bolt EV, not to be mistaken with the slightly bigger Bolt EUV mini-SUV evaluated separately, is the most affordable EV offered in the United States today, offering it a more affordable option to compact EVs such as the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Kona Electric.

The Bolt is propelled by a single 200-horsepower engine that drives its front wheels, allowing it to go 259 miles on a single charge, according to the EPA. Chevy claims that the Bolt’s DC fast-charging capabilities can add up to 100 miles of range in only 30 minutes. The inside is very spacious compared to prior Chevy models. Chevrolet Bolt EV (2023) Pricing

The Chevrolet Bolt EV lineup begins with the 1LT, which has a manufacturer’s recommended retail price (MSRP) of $25,600 plus a destination fee. The 2LT is priced at $28,800.

Because the Chevrolet Bolt EV has officially sold 200,000 units, the $7,500 federal tax credit for all-electric vehicles is no longer available. However, certain states may still provide incentives.

The California Clean Vehicle Rebate programme, for example, provided $2,000 to anybody who purchased or leased a 2022 Bolt EV. Chevrolet includes a 240-volt home charger as well.

Some competitors, such as the Nissan Leaf (beginning at $27,400), Hyundai Kona Electric (from roughly $31K), and Kia Niro EV (from around $40K), are still eligible for the federal tax credit.
