The 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 moves the famous moniker into territory formerly inhabited by Ferrari and Lamborghini exotics. Its naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V-8 engine has a flat-plane crank and a top speed of 8500 rpm. The unusual V-8 engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Wider, stickier tyres and more powerful brakes allow it to corner harder and stop faster than the standard Vette.
Given the car’s performance capabilities, the 2018 Corvette Z06’s six-figure starting price is unsurprising, but it’s still a steal when compared to European supercars with comparable equipment. We’d start with the standard 1LZ Coupe but add the Z07 Performance package, which includes a tuned suspension, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, and Michelin Pilot Cup 2R ZP tyres. Selecting this option necessitates the addition of the Carbon Aero package, which includes carbon fibre external features such as a front splitter and a rear spoiler.
